PUBLIC REALM IMPROVEMENTS
Public realm improvements to Harrow Road and Bishops Bridge Road where narrow pavements have been increased in width and greening introduced to lessen air pollution.
NEW CANAL-SIDE PATH
Opening up of the canal-side path creating an important connection in this part of Paddington from the north of the site.
LOCAL JOBS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Maximising local recruitment both during construction and on completion of the development, including apprentices and training opportunities.
NEW COMMUNITY SPACE
Introduction of a community space to allow social impact to the area, with potential affordable workspace and apprenticeship / higher education mentoring with local schools and Unite Student's leapskill programme endorsed by the Department for Education (DfE).
AFFORDABLE STUDENT ROOMS
Of the 768 student beds, 269 (35%) will be offered at affordable rents, targeted at those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who might not normally consider going away to university.

Provision of additional security enhancements including CCTV, 24-hour on-site security presence and appropriate lighting, creating passive surveillance through an active frontage, notably along the canal frontage and under Bishop's bridge Road.
